Yesterday I was sitting with my favorite girl Friday, my computer, doing research looking for some great meeting planning ideas. I was attempting to find something new and exciting to pitch to a long standing client for her association’s opening reception. I have been working with this client for several years now and while I love, love, love some of the good old stand by scenarios I wanted to pitch something different and so unlike anything we have ever produced for her. I was trolling the internet for decor and entertainment ideas and trends that are a bit outside of the box; that are truly unique, slightly unusual and really special. So there I was typing and Goggling away and while yes I was looking for something new and fresh, what I found was something totally different and off topic.

So although I did not find the new decor and entertainment ideas that I anticipate will fit the bill, I’ll be back at it today. And really with so many great trends in our industry I don’t doubt I will be sitting pretty. But what I did find was this amazing video that really got me thinking. Have you ever pondered the question “What was I like when I was just I was younger”. What would I say to myself if I could go back and have a conversation? Would that change the person I am today? Actor and filmmaker Jeremiah McDonald answered that question for himself and at the same time provided a glimpse into his past and present for us.

In 1992 at the age of twelve he made a video of himself for the future Jeremiah. And after coming across the video recently at the age of thirty-two he combined footage of himself then and now. The result is this unbelievable, get you thinking, video that went viral with over seven million hits. Watching Jeremiah’s video really got me thinking about my past memories and what would I say to my younger self? I’m not sure if I would ask and answer any relevant or significant questions but I do think I would tell the younger me to take it easy, chill out and don’t take everything so seriously…it really does all work out.

So have a look at the video and then hit the comments section and let me know what you would tell the younger you.

What interests you? That’s the question I would ask… Plus I would ask about my dog.
