A honeymoon is defined as the period of time that follows the wedding celebration. History insists that back in the day the honeymoon came first and was then followed by the wedding ceremony. But times have changed from way back in the 1500’s. And the ceremony and all that enjoyable madness now happens first and if you survive you get to experience an exciting getaway.
Whether you hire a professional or do all the work yourself. Picture this you have just finished months if not years of planning the perfect wedding. Your perfect wedding. You have had to organize, touch and managed all the details. Including the relatives, entourage, venue and all the other bits and pieces that come with planning a wedding. And right now all you can think of is that honeymoon.
Here Comes the Bride…there goes the Honeymoon!
Every couple I know can’t wait for that last speech, last toast and for the last guest to leave so they can get their honeymoon on. Don’t get me wrong, the wedding ceremony is the most important part of the experience. But who doesn’t look forward to a week (or more) of putting your feet up, chilling out and enjoying time with the one you love the most. And I don’t have to tell you that a honeymoon can be a mixed bag. Most times a couple plans a honeymoon based on their likes and interests. There are so many options to choose from. While some like it hot and are into beach escapes, others like it cool and go for a snow experience.

I never gave honeymoon planning much thought. That was until a friend asked me to help plan hers. And these friends are major adventure seekers. So even the research was enjoyable.
