Last week the roof of the Vancouver Convention Centre was given a boost. The home to well over 400,000 various grasses and plants and one of the grandest green roofs around received its yearly clipping, cutting and trimming. Once the annual makeover was completed it reminded us of the unbelievably spectacular North Shore and city landscapes and beautiful views that can clearly be seen from this vantage point. Amazingly the “living roof” of the West building, a six acre space is home and habitat to thousands and thousands of native plants and also retrieves rainwater for irrigation.
How often do you hear about mowing the lawn of the roof of a convention center, any convention center?
