It’s that time of year again, best airlines award time. Recently Skytrax released their latest and greatest annual list of 2015 best airlines. The top 100 airlines awarded are part of the Skytrax World Airline Awards. Where over 18 million passengers from around the world from 110 countries to be specific voted on everything from friendliness to comfort to quality. Sometimes recognized as the Passengers Choice Awards, this much sought-after award is considered a worldwide standard of value and excellence.
Best Airlines 2015 Bits and Bites
Unveiled in 1999, this year the winners were announced at the Paris Air Show. And landing in the top spot was 2014’s second place winner, Qatar Airlines. Bumping last year’s number one, Cathay Pacific to third place. Moving up from third place last year and landing securely in the number two spot is Singapore Airlines.
The top US airline, Virgin America came in at twenty-six. Followed by Delta Airlines in spot forty-five, United Airlines in spot sixty and the world’s largest airline, American Airlines landed in spot seventy-one.
The top Canadian Airline, Air Canada secured twenty-seven, followed by WestJet Airlines at forty-seven and Porter Airlines at forty-eight.
Some other noteworthy awards worth mentioning start with the world’s best economy class airline scooped by Asiana Airlines. World’s best business class airline was claimed by Singapore Airlines. World’s best low-cost airline in North America was won by Virgin America. While world’s best cabin staff was picked up by Garuda Indonesia with Emitates receiving world’s best in-flight entertainment.
