IT’S ALL ABOUT BEING A FRIENDLY CITY!

No matter the country, every city is celebrated for something unique. Some cities we love because of the entertainment and restaurants, some because of the people and attractions. And let’s not forget about the architecture and history. And others are favorites just because they’re known for being a friendly city.

For over twenty five years the Conde Nast Travelers’ Readers Choice Awards has provided one of the more reliable and complete lists of favorites. Asking well over 45,000 participants their preferences when it comes to airlines and cruise companies, resorts and hotels and cities and islands. For the second year this travel magazine extraordinaire asked partakers to rate “a city’s friendliness, especially with respect to where you felt welcome.” They were asked to provide their thoughts when it came to friendliness and feeling welcomed in a destination. Like anything, what some figure to be hospitable others well not so much? And depending on who you talk to a friendly city means different things to different people.

Friendliest and Unfriendliest Cities in the U.S.

Conde Nast Traveler based the survey on six measures; restaurants, shopping, lodging, atmosphere/ambiance, culture/sites and yes friendliness. For a destination to be identified as a friendly city and preferred they must receive more than average scores across the board. Just recently Conde Nast revealed their latest and greatest Readers Choice 2014 results.

Top of the survey was the Friendliest and Unfriendliest Cities in the U.S. Some of the results may surprise you while others not so much.

And the results are in…the Number One Friendly City in the U.S. is…
