Thanksgiving. That ever so important holiday that brings family and friends together in celebration. When you think of Thanksgiving, turkey, football and of course imbibing a little bit too much come to mind. After all Thanksgiving is often viewed as a way of rewarding yourself for having worked so hard up until now.
Well this is now the day after Thanksgiving. Black Friday for all you shoppers. Shopping on Black Friday is a whole other story altogether. Today, many people are feeling the effects of having too much of a good time yesterday. And many of you are valiantly trying to cure that throbbing headache and that dry, parched mouth. Here at Plan an Event, we thought we’d share a few hangover cures (courtesy of the good people at trutv.com) that might raise an eyebrow or two. Now we’re not saying they don’t work. Rather, in this case we’re just not sure if the cure is worse than the cause. You decide.
5 Unique Thanksgiving Hangover Cures (Or Any Hangover Cures for That Matter)
Been there, done that. All coffee seems to do is make you more alert and more aware of how throbbing your head is.
Eating Raw Eggs
This one comes from England. I guess when you get salmonella it helps take your mind off of the hangover.
Rubbing Lemon on Your Arms
From Puerto Rico, this is actually a preventative activity. Apparently one rubs lemon under one’s drinking arm before the festivities begin. Yeah I’m pretty sure I’m not going to do that.
Lick Your Sweat
Some native Americans believe that if you lick your sweat and then spit it out you’ll be cured of a hangover. One thing’s for sure, if you do that you’re not going to have anyone to party with.
They do this in Poland. I’m thinking that maybe somethings should just stay in Poland. Say, drinking pickle juice, for example.
So if you’re not feeling 100% today, maybe take a look at these Thanksgiving hangover cures. If anything they’ll take your mind off of feeling so bad. And, if you’re like me, just the mere fact that I’m not out doing any shopping today is cure enough for me.
