Some people say that there is no difference between a party planner or an event planner. However there are some differences between the two titles. Generally speaking, an event planner can be a party planner, but a party planner is not an event planner. I guess a lot can be left to translation of what an event is. Many event planning companies will have someone that is an expert in party planning. And that person would handle the social components to the meeting or event.
Another way of looking at each job description is that an event planner will plan and execute all aspects of the meeting or event whereas a party planner generally deals with the social aspect, i.e. the party. The roles and responsibilities are the same. It is the types of events, or parties, that generally define whether someone is a party planner or an event planner.
