Did you go to IncentiveWorks 2015? The annual IncentiveWorks show is over for the 24th year. Bringing together planners and suppliers from the incentive and meetings industry through education, events, networking and a tradeshow. And with over 400 exhibitors and about 1,725 participants, Toronto was the place to be. When arriving at the convention center all you had to do was follow the music up the escalators and you’d uncover all things IncentiveWorks.
The two day trade show was a busy one. And while some felt that Wednesday was slower. Robin Paisley, Managing Director said that day two is usually slower, allowing suppliers to have more extensive meetings with prospective buyers. Both days seemed busy enough to us and while walking the trade show floor we bumped into lots of industry colleagues and supporters. But was surprised to make friends with so many industry newbies. As it turned out, were new to the job or with changing roles attended the show looking to create supplier portfolios.
IncentiveWorks 2015 Trade Show Experiences
There was definitely lots going on. Planes, trains and automobiles were covered. And everything from CVB’s to accommodations, from promo gifts to AV services, from associations to entertainment and so much more. And as Robin Paisley states “It’s no longer a one-size-fits-all mentality. Attendees overall want the opportunity to create their own experience, which is part of the reason why we create a number of different activations and installations throughout the show.” In addition to the 425 exhibitors there were lots of other great happenings on the trade show floor.
At the first timer success story, the Wellness Lounge you could not only chat with a wellness professional, you could meditate, get a message and enjoy some aromatherapy. A visit to the Knowledge Pods provided the space to either take part in peer-to-peer talks or uncover expert tips and tricks.
If you had a question or were in need of some coaching you could partake in an expert personal 15-minute coaching session. And during a drop-in to the Discovery District we found it was all about technology from hi-tech to no-tech and everything else in between.
The Lounges provided the perfect spot to catch-up. At the International Lounge you could take a load off and discover all the latest and greatest in incentive travel trends. And a visit to the Connection Lounge turned out to be the ideal place to network, make new connections and meet up with past ones too. I’m talking about you Sandra Wood.
