With an abundance of food choices and colors, fall can be an ideal time to host an event or party.

Ideas for Fall Party Themes

Harvest Theme. Fall provides an abundance of food ideas. Throw in some hay barrels and some fall decor and you have yourself a good old-fashioned hoedown. Keep the music lively as this is the time of year for celebration.

Autumn Equinox (or spring equinox depending on where you are in the world). Why not connect with mother nature and have a fall equinox party. On the equinox, daytime and nighttime are 50/50. It’s an ideal time to connect with nature and show the earthy side of you.

Fall Festivals. Fall festivals are popular in North America. On top of celebrating the year’s harvest, festivals also have amusement rides and activities for the participants. A fall festival is an ideal setting for food stations with each representing a bounty of the harvest.

Oktoberfest. This one is all about the beer. Okay the sausages aren’t that bad either. And the music: lively and fun. Originating in Germany, Oktoberfest has become a fall celebration around the world.

Canadian and American Thanksgiving. This celebration focuses on the fall harvest. You better wear comfortable clothing for this event.

Decor for Fall Party Themes

Colors. Bright colors such as; golds, orange, reds and browns make up the colors of fall.

Leaves. The colorful leaves of autumn make great table decor. As an added touch use the leaves as placeholders for your guests.

Hay. Easy to incorporate in the room’s decor. As a great touch to pretty much any fall theme.

Menus for Fall Parties

Fall is a great time of the year to be planning a menu. Seasonal delights include; squash, broccoli, turnips, carrots, potatoes and pumpkins.

Main courses usually focus on game such as; venison, duck, pheasant, Cornish hen and of course turkey.

Pies make great dessert items for fall menus. Pumpkin and apple pies top the list.
