Anyone who knows me knows I’m a huge fan of a great engagement proposal. As Julia Roberts would say HUGE! As it turns out I won’t get an engagement proposal or wedding and that’s by choice. But I’m a softy at heart and no matter how simplistic or difficult I can’t get me enough of a happy proposal.

Love, Engagement and Marriage

If I had to guess I would say there is no incorrect way to propose to the one you love. But I would also guess that when it comes to an engagement proposal, some ways are better than others. And yes, I do enjoy seeing people put their spin on one of the most universal topics; love and marriage. A great engagement proposal has so many things in common. The person on the receiving end never expects it. There are always tears. There is planning involved. And in the end there is almost always a yes and a smile.

Engagement Proposal Cooking Style

An engagement proposal can be tricky even for the most romantic at heart. I read that 85% of woman say they were dissatisfied with the way they were proposed to. That does put a lot of pressure on the person doing the asking. Some even went as far as to say that getting down on one knee is so old fashioned. I’m not sure if I totally agree with that. But it does make you scratch your head. When it comes time to figure out the best way to present those special four words “will you marry me?”

If you have an engagement proposal on your mind. Whether you want it to be splashy or private, playful or funny, at home or in front of the world. Don’t forget it will remembered and retold for a lifetime to come. And no matter what, the most important part is the “will you marry me” part. So be sure to think it through and decide on the how, when and where before you get started.
